Farewell to Fr Stephen and Fr Michael

Changes are afoot in VLM as we bid farewell to Fr Stephen Monaghan and Fr Michael McCullagh who are soon taking up new appointments within the Vincentian Congregation.

Fr Stephen Monaghan, who has served as VLM chaplain since 2006, has been missioned to the Ethiopian Vincentians in Ambo. He plans to work on the further development of the Ambo Lazarist School for the Deaf, as well as welcoming future VLM volunteers who travel to Ethiopia.

Fr Michael, who co-founded VLM back in 2002, will be stepping into a new role in the Sacred Heart Parish at Mill Hill in London. No doubt he will remain connected to and quietly working for VLM from his new mission across the water.

We would like to thank both Fr Stephen and Fr Michael for their commitment and valuable contributions to VLM to date, particularly in their roles with our board of management and our fundraising, as well as recruiting, training and walking the journey with hundreds of volunteers over the years. We wish them well as they take up their new appointments later this year.
