The All Ireland Vintage Motor Cycle Gathering will launch from The Church Pub and Restaurant, Mary’s St. Dublin at 11am on Tuesday August 13th.

Since 2002 we have been sending volunteers to Ethiopia with the Vincentian Lay Missionaries. In our All Ireland Vintage Motor Cycle Gathering we are planning to meet with these volunteers in Carlow, Enniscorthy, Cork, Ennis, Galway, Sligo and in various parts of Donegal.

It will be our gathering reunion and each area will organize a welcoming function for the ten vintage motor cyclists who will tour Ireland from Tuesday, August 13th to Monday, August 19th ending with a special gathering in Gweedore, Co.Donegal. Radio Na Gaeltachta will conduct a daily interview on the progress of the tour. In each area the local motor cyclists will come to meet the touring group and escort them into the various towns.

A highlight will be the descent of Glengesh Pass in Co. Donegal which will feature many bikers on the Sunday 18th of August. This event will mark the centenary of a famous ascent of the Pass in 1913 by celebrated motor cyclists of the time.  It will be recorded from the air  by local photographers.

We have bikers from the U.K joining the main body of the tour and bikers from Germany will join us at certain stages of the journey. The official departure is from the Church Restaurant , Mary’s Street Dublin 1 on Tuesday, August 13th at 11.00 a.m.
